Stop 49: The Hayes Maters Building
- 14124 5th St, Dade City, FL 33525
Farm House Market & Café……Clark’s Dodge
Built in 1926 in an era of automobile rivalry, the site at 14124 5th Street holds a great deal of history. The building which originated as Clark Motors Dodge Garage has been restored and one might say repurposed as a lovely luncheon and market place.
The building was known as the Hayes Maters Building and the pre-911 address was: 202 South 5th.
Ronnie & Jenny Williams founded The Farmhouse Market & Cafe in 2018, with a vision of supporting local farmers & businesses to bring the best & freshest products. They hope to bring a unique & convenient feature to downtown Dade City while continuing the integrity of its small-town ambiance. They recently received acknowledgement from the Chamber of Commerce as outstanding new business.
The site has been a Dodge showroom and garage followed by stints as as West Coast Tire Service, Thornhill Tire & Auto Service, and Good Year Tire. The contemporary design most certainly holds many stories. Take a look at some of the vintage advertisements.
